Don’t do this!

Register globals is gone because it was a security nightmare. If you do this, any value added to the query string will just parachute directly into the context of your code.

What if I have more than one field?
For example, I have a table with the following fields: cat_name, cat_title, cat_description, etc…
How can I fix that using the following code?

UPDATE table SET col1=CONVERT(CONVERT(CONVERT(col1 USING ‘latin1′) USING BINARY) USING ‘utf8′);
